Top white from Tokara a shoo-in for Team SA when talking world class

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED in Platter’s South African Wine Guide, an outstanding review on Winemag, then platinum at the Decanter World Wine Awards in the UK. Tokara Director’s Reserve 2016. So consistently good over the years. One of the Top 10 white blends in the SA Wine Classification, Top Wine SA Hall of Fame, Top 20 in the SA Cellar Classification. The white wine in the Tokara Director’s duo is arguably the biggest success story of GT Ferreira’s estate on the summit of Helshoogte in Stellenbosch where good wine, good food and good art come together in a magnificent setting with some of the best views in the Cape Winelands.

Producer’s Tasting Notes: pale straw colour; nose shows stunning complexity with fruit notes of ripe quince, passion fruit, intermingled with hints of lemon grass, toasted almonds and freshly baked brioche; full on the palate, rich and reminiscent of the aromas; finishes with clarity and depth, a slight grip, just lingering.
Cellaring: can be enjoyed now or matured for a further 5 to 10 years.
Food Pairing: best with grilled fish, roasted quail and duck.
R270pb at the cellar door.
