Proof-reading / Copy-editing

BY THE WORD

45 cents per word for over 15 000 words per month
65 cents a word for 2000 to 15 000 words per month
R1.10 per word for 1 to 2000 words per month

BY THE HOUR

R275 per hour = weekly rate (20 hrs plus)
R300 per hour = daily rate

General Writing, Wine Writing

BY THE WORD

R3.50 per word = basic rate
R4.50 per word for writing that involves extensive research

BY THE HOUR

General writing @ R350 per hour
Writing that involves extensive research @ R450 per hour

Overtime

The above are ‘normal time’ rates for proofing, editing and writing
i.e. Mon – Fri, 08:30 – 17:00

Overtime rate = 1½ × normal time rate (outside ‘normal time’)

Travelling

The above rates do not cover the cost of travel, ie. if there is any travelling involved. Road travel expenses charged at AA rates unless otherwise agreed upon.
