Nederburg’s Muscadel impressing wine aficionados around the globe

Nederburg Private Bin Eminence 2012NEDERBURG Private Bin Eminence 2012 has been included among the Top 10 entries at the 2016 edition of Muscats du Monde staged in the city of Frontignan-la-Peyrade in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. The Paarl cellar’s Eminence was one of 29 gold medallists – another South African among them being the 2015 Red Muscadel from Orange River Cellars, Upington, with the 2010 vintage of Nederburg Eminence and the 2013 Grand Constance 2013 from Groot Constantia awarded silver medals.

In total, there were 244 entries from 22 countries in this international competition focusing on various types and styles of wine made from Muscat grapes. The judging took place over two days at the end of June, with wine experts from around the world on the tasting panels.

The success of Nederburg’s 2012 Eminence – one of only 10 dessert wines in the Top Wine SA Hall of Fame – follows trophies received for this vintage at the International Wine Challenge in London and the SA Trophy Wine Show, gold at the Veritas Awards last year and a 5 Star rating in the 2014 edition of Platter’s SA Wine Guide.
