Shiraz & Charcuterie feast promises fantastic food-and-wine pairings
THEY SAY the reason for changing venue was a lack of space. In just a couple of years, the Feast of Shiraz & Charcuterie grew in popularity to the point that host Hartenberg was bursting at the seams and hence the switch to Joostenberg Deli & Bistro for the 2015 event on Saturday 30 May, 12:00 to 17:00 – not quite as charming outdoors, what with those powerlines, pylons n all, but plenty of parking and easy access just off the N1 freeway.
From various parts of the SA winelands, there will be 19 Shiraz exhibitors at the Stellenbosch venue. Odd that they didn’t round-up to 20:
Anthonij Rupert Wyne
Cederberg Private Cellar
Eagles’ Nest Wines
Kleinood / Tamboerskloof
Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines
Rust en Vrede Wine Estate
Thelema Mountain Vineyards
An impressive line-up, including six or so of the Top 20 in terms of the 2015 SA Shiraz Classification. R180 pp covers the food-and-wine pairings, you can enjoy a special tutored tasting for an extra R50, and there will be plenty to choose from as regards the cured meats, cheeses, olives and breads that will be on sale. Booking online at Webtickets.
