Durbanville excels as four SA wineries strike gold at international Mondial du Sauvignon

concours-mondial-sauvignon (cropped)DIEMERSDAL, Steenberg and Delaire Graff shone brightly for South Africa at the international Concours Mondial du Sauvignon 2015. At the contest, held in Italy’s Friuli-Venezia Giulia region this year, two of the SA trio won a couple of medals each, with Diemersdal of Durbanville winning three.

In all, gold medals were presented for four Sauvignon Blancs from the Cape – two of them from Durbanville cellars:

Delaire Graff Coastal Cuvée 2014 – Stellenbosch
Diemersdal Eight Rows 2014 – Durbanville
Maastricht 2014 – Durbanville
Steenberg The Black Swan 2013 – Tokai/Constantia

South Africa’s 12 silver medallists at Mondial du Sauvignon 2015 were as follows – listed together with the location of the wineries:
