Stark-Condé takes top trophy at 2013 Trophy Wine Show

STARK-CONDÉ WINES in the Jonkershoek Valley of Stellenbosch was the Most Successful Producer at the 2013 Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show, followed by the cellars of KWV, Delaire Graff, Rustenberg, Cederberg, Rijk’s, Jordan, Diemersfontein, Eikendal, Hillcrest and Simonsig. And just as interesting as the latest reviews regarding some of South Africa’s top quality wines are the discoveries in the best-value stakes – see below.
 
Top-performing red wine in the taste-off: Delaire Graff Botmaskop 2010. Top-performing white wine in the competition: Rijk’s Chenin Blanc Reserve 2008. Top-rated sparkling wine on the day: JC Le Roux Scintilla 2003. And the most-preferred dessert wines at the show: Delheim Edelspatz Noble Late Harvest 2012 (unfortified) and Nuy White Muscadel 2007 (fortified).
