Pinotage Wine Guide like none other

IN LESS than a century South Africa’s Pinot Noir Cinsaut cross has developed to become one of the most widely planted red grape varieties in the country, responsible for drinks that range from humble quaffers to fine wines deserving of their place in the company of the world’s very best. January 2012 marked the launch of South Africa’s Pinotage Wine Guide 1995 – 2011, published by the Pinotage Association, available free of charge from its members and with the content ranging from the history of the variety to the winemaking and the characteristics of Pinotage in terms of appearance, smell and taste.

Pretty much everything you might want to know about Pinotage is covered in the pocket-size book, including what food it goes well with to Pinotage Wine Route maps and a producer directory that encompasses the various cellars’ details and the winemakers’ descriptions of what to expect from the different types and styles made from the local industry’s ‘trump card’, as it were.
